SAMUEL PARK 
GUEST CONCERTMASTER

For our March concert, we welcome guest Concertmaster Samuel Park. Sam has extensive and international experience in the Concertmaster position, and will bring his knowledge and experience to our orchestra.

​Born and raised in Germany, violinist Samuel Park has been a member of the Oregon Symphony since 2015. Before moving to Oregon, Samuel served as concertmaster of the Bozeman Symphony. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Samuel’s exceptional musicianship has earned him a reputation as an artist who, in addition to his versatile interpretations of the classics, is known for his dedication and commitment to historical performance practice. Over the course of his career, Samuel has concertized on five different continents and has taught master classes in the United States, Germany, France, China, Korea, Japan, and Brazil.
  
As an orchestral musician, Samuel has performed with the Staatskapelle Dresden, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and the Bundesjugendorchester (National Youth Orchestra of Germany), and has played with conductors Claudio Abbado, Kurt Masur, Bernhard Klee, Jaap van Zweden, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Mario Venzago, Ton Koopman, and David Stern, among others.
In addition to his regular duties with the Oregon Symphony, Samuel enjoys performing at summer festivals, including The Crested Butte Music Festival, Boston Early Music Festival, Chelsea Music Festival, and the Oregon Bach Festival.
Samuel is an avid chamber musician, having collaborated with Arnold Steinhardt, Nigel Kennedy, Monica Huggett, the Turtle Island Quartet, and Juilliard Baroque. Samuel’s solo appearances include the world premiere of The Spheres by Lee Johnson with the University of West Florida Symphony, Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Northwest Florida Symphony, and John Williams’ Three Pieces from Schindler’s List with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra.
